Girl Effect

DATA was formed in 2002 by Bono and Bobby Shriver with the financial backing from Endeavor client Edward W. Scott, Jr., Bill Gates and George Soros, to raise support among G-8 nations to help end extreme poverty and AIDS in Africa.

From inception, DATA (Debt, Aids, Trade, Africa) has combined celebrity profile, complex policy analysis, sophisticated legislative tactics and business acumen to develop and champion a global legislative agenda in support of Africa. DATA calls on the governments of the world's wealthiest nations to keep their existing commitments to Africa and to adopt new trade and aid policies that will help Africans put themselves on the path to long-term prosperity and stability. DATA's efforts have directly helped to secure over $25 billion of investment from the US and other G-8 nations. Endeavor supported DATA board and staff at its inception, helping the organization to define its strategic objectives and operating plans. As the organization expanded, Endeavor helped DATA to achieve specific legal, financial and operational objectives, including the formation of major funding partnerships and recruitment of new board members during a critical time in the organization's growth.
